Rifle Rangefinders: Rangefinders designed specifically for rifle hunting are often of higher magnification than other hunting rangefinders. While many of these rangefinders designed for rifle hunting do a scan mode, many lack an angle compensation feature that is found on a lot of other hunting rangefinders. Some of these models are also of a flatter design and are held horizontally like binoculars, instead of vertically like a monocular. This enables the hunter to hold the unit steady easier for long range targeting.
Today we will talk about just how a laser rangefinder functions. The distance to an objective is calculated by a rangefinder by the rebounding of a laser light beam off the object to be ranged. The time it takes for the laser light beam to reach the target and return is measured by a high speed digital clock. This time that commonly takes less than one second, is then computed by the rangefinder and displayed as a distance on the rangefinders build in screen.
When it comes to selecting one of the many laser rangefinders on the market, perhaps the first thing you want to look for is its potential range and application. Some rangefinders also use "modes" so that you can use it effectively in all kinds of terrain and weather. The potential range also varies as many are capable of accurately reporting the range of an object up to 2,000 or more yards. Whether you need one when you’re out golfing or are competing in an athletic, outdoor sport that allows you to use one, laser rangefinders can certainly be a huge advantage for any of these applications.
