Optics Most rangefinders will offer magnification of some sort in the form of a monocular (some are available in a binocular). The magnification typically ranges between 5 and 8 power. The quality of the optics will vary with the quality of the rangefinder, and again the more expensive models offer far superior optics clarity and magnification than do the cheap models.
Today we will talk about just how a laser rangefinder functions. The distance to an objective is calculated by a rangefinder by the rebounding of a laser light beam off the object to be ranged. The time it takes for the laser light beam to reach the target and return is measured by a high speed digital clock. This time that commonly takes less than one second, is then computed by the rangefinder and displayed as a distance on the rangefinders build in screen.
In addition to sports, forestry and other outdoor purposes, rangefinders are also used extensively by the military. They are commonly used to scout or reconnaissance an area, find military targets and aid soldiers and other active duty personnel during missions. However, militaristic rangefinders are often more sophisticated than those used in the consumer market, and they’re often combined with computers and other military technology.
